Maya Alexis takes great joy in the positive power of dance to enrich lives.
She studied a wide array of technique and performance styles at the Chamber Ballet in Williamsburg, Virginia, the Richmond Ballet, and Point Park University’s Conservatory for Performing Arts (Pittsburgh), among others. Her performing experience includes The Secret Garden as well as starring roles in The Nutcracker, such as Columbine and Tirolese. She also appeared in numerous festivals and cultural events in cities throughout Virginia.
In the summer of 2006, Maya was invited to to Germany to perform as part of the Robitshek Dance Ensemble, where she shared the stage with a cast of talented dancers from around the world. At Busch Gardens, she spooked in Rockin’ Eve’s Countdown to Midnight (fall 2006), polka’d in This is Oktoberfest (2008), and scared in Frightnight in the Festhaus (fall 2008). Before moving to New York, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, summa cum laude at the College of William and Mary. Maya has also enjoyed teaching and choreographing for young dancers at various dance studios and public schools.
Since moving to New York City in 2010, she delved further into learning various international dance styles such as belly dance, samba and Bollywood. Maya’s devotion to constantly growing in her skill and knowledge as a dancer and entertainer, sets her apart from the rest.
